Following the conclusion of India's roller-coaster journey in South Africa, in which they saw a Test series defeat 2-1, ODI series victory 5-1 and T20I series triumph 2-1, captain Virat Kohli said that the team gave just 80 per cent on the tour. "I'd say we are still 80 percent. When we are able to achieve what we want to in the two tours, we'll be more content. But our 80 percent is also exciting. To be a world-class side, you have to be 100 percent," Kohli said in the conference, keeping the upcoming tours of England and Australia in perspective. Bowlers held their nerves as India registered a nail biting seven-run victory in the third and final Twenty20 International to clinch their maiden T20I series in South Africa on Saturday. Chasing a target of 173 runs, the Proteas could only manage 165/6 in their 20 overs. The match came alive in the last seven overs as JP Duminy and debutant Christiaan Jonker took the battle to the Indian bowlers. Ahead of the T20 Tri-Nation series, which India will play against neighbours Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the BCCI released a 15-man squad that will be led by Rohit Sharma. Team India opener Shikhar Dhawan will take the role as vice-captain whereas skipper Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni have been rested for the tournament. The men in blue are eyeing a perfect climax to what has been a thoroughly roller-coaster tour to the Rainbow nation. India will take on a depleted but not completely deflated South Africa in the third and final Twenty20 International on Saturday in Cape Town. Having suffered a minor setback in the previous game, India will look to recover and close out this eight-week long tour with a series' win. The three-match series is levelled at 1-1 after the Men in Blue won the first T20I in Johannesburg by 28 runs. The Proteas bounced back in Centurion with a six-wicket win. Contrary to his nature, 'captain cool' MS Dhoni was spotted abusing middle-order batsman Manish Pandey during the 2nd T20I against South Africa at the Supersport Park, Centurion, on Thursday. South Africa defeated the Men in Blue by six wickets to level the three-match series 1-1. Before Dhoni could reach his second T20I half-century, Dhoni caught Pandey off-guard as his mind and concentration was engrossed somewhere else which led the former losing his calm. This was one of the rarest sights seen as no Indian cricket fan would ever expect the 'calm one' to lose his cool and abuse his young colleague. After clinching a 5-1 ODI series, India's first-ever bilateral series win in South Africa, Virat Kohli & Co will aim for a T20I series win when they take on deflated hosts in the second T20I at the Supersport Park, Centurion, on Wednesday. However, the rain may play a spoilsport as there is an 80 per cent chance of thundershower and that could delay the start of the game. The Supersport Park is expected to be majorly overcast around 9:30 PM IST, which is the 2nd T20I starting time. Currently, India lead the three-match T20I series as they registered a 28-run victory in the first T20I to take a 1-0 lead. FOr more sports news and updates: https://www.indiatvnews.com/sports
Skipper Virat Kohli scored his 35th century as India crushed South Africa by eight wickets to win the six-match ODI series by a comprehensive 5-1 margin at the Supersport Park, Centurion, on Friday. Hailing Kohli's current form, former India opener Virender Sehwag predicted his future, claiming that he would break Sachin Tendulkar's record of 100 international centuries in his career. "He can break Sachin's record of 100 international tons," the 39-year-old added with sheer confidence in his voice. The Nawab of Najafgarh predicted that Kohli, who already has 35 ODI tons under his name, can score 62 centuries in his career. "He can score 62 tons in ODIs. He can play more ODI matches than Sachin and that would definitely bring runs and centuries for him," he said. For more sports news and updates: https://www.indiatvnews.com/sports
India wins the final ODI by 8 wickets, wins the series 5-1. Indian Skipper Virat Kohli declared Man of the Match and Man of the Series
India skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and put South Africa in to bat in the sixth and final One-day International at the Supersport Park in Centurion on Friday. Already 4-1 up in the series, the visitors decided to rest paceman Bhuvneshwar Kumar and included youngster Shardul Thakur in the playing XI while the hosts made four changes after the 73-run loss in the fifth ODI at Port Elizabeth. Bowling all-rounder Chris Morris was recalled to the team along with Farhaan Behardein, Imran Tahir and Khaya Zondo, replacing Kagiso Rabada, David Miller, Tabraiz Shamsi and Jean Paul Duminy.
Former India opener Virender Sehwag credited wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal for Team India's historic bilateral ODI series victory in South Africa, saying that this was probably the first time that two bowlers have come out as the architects of men-in-blue's victories overseas. The 39-year-old, who is India TV's Cricket Expert, said both Kuldeep and Chahal broke the spine of the South African team and never allowed the hosts to make a comeback in the series. "It is not an easy task to beat South Africa in South Africa. It is a big achievement for India. Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are the biggest positives for India in the ODI series. What Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh couldn't do, Kuldeep and Chahal have done it," he said. For more sports news and updates: https://www.indiatvnews.com/sports
'Lucky' David Miller and rain spoilt India's chances of registering their first-ever series victory in Rainbow nation on Saturday. Chasing a revised target of 202 in 28 overs in the fourth ODI, Miller got two reprieves that cost India dearly as South Africa brought a halt to the visitor's rampaging run with a five-wicket win in Johannesburg. The stunning turnaround in the rain and lightning-struck ODI, meant South Africa maintained their unbeaten record in pink and keep alive the six-match series by reducing the margin to 3-1. Miller scored 39 off 28 balls to guide the hosts to their first win in four matches in the series. For more Sports news and stories - https://www.indiatvnews.com/sports

India beat South Africa by 124 runs, lead the 6 match series by 3-0
Following emphatic wins in the first two ODIs, India will look to take an unprecedented 3-0 lead when they take on wounded South Africa, plagued by injuries, in the third ODI of the six-match series at Newlands, Cape Town, on Wednesday. The Virat Kohli-led visitors outclassed the hosts in the first couple of games in Durban and Centurion by six and nine wickets respectively. Previously, India have managed to win two ODIs in a bilateral series in South Africa -- in 1992-93 and in 2010-11, only to lose 2-5 and 2-3, respectively. But given the circumstances in the ongoing series, with South Africa losing their top three players -- skipper Faf du Plessis, AB de Villiers and Quinton de Kock -- to various injuries, the men-in-blue have a bright chance to better their record on South African soil.
