कांग्रेस ने कहा, अखबारों में प्रकाशित कुछ खबरों में कहा गया है कि गुजरात में दूसरे चरण के चुनाव में आख़िरी एक घंटे में 16 लाख वोट पड़े। हम उम्मीदवारों से फ़ॉर्म 17सी एकत्र करने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं, जो निर्वाचन अधिकारी देते हैं।
इस बार विभिन्न राजनीतिक दलों और निर्दलीय प्रत्याशी के तौर पर कुल 139 महिला उम्मीदवार मैदान में थीं। 2012 के विधानसभा चुनावों में जीतने वाली महिला उम्मीदवारों की संख्या 16 थी। वहीं 2017 के चुनाव में 13 महिलाओं ने जीत हासिल की थी।
